XCFinder

Creator & Full-stack Developer • XCFinder
XCFinder is a web application dedicated to the analysis and visualization of paragliding flights. It allows users to upload IGC files, explore flight data, and replay tracks in 3D on an interactive globe. The project was fully designed and developed with Next.js and CesiumJS, covering everything from user experience to GPS data processing and visualization.

What I did

  • End-to-end design and development of the application, including architecture, UX/UI, frontend, data processing, and deployment.
  • Integration of CesiumJS with Next.js to create an interactive 3D mapping experience for visualizing flight trajectories directly over terrain.
  • Development of an IGC file import and analysis system, including GPS data parsing, flight information extraction, and coordinate transformation for use within the application.
  • Creation of an interactive 3D replay feature allowing users to replay flights over time, with dynamic movement along the track and real-time visualization of flight progression.
  • Development of flight track visualization and analysis tools to make flight data easier to understand and explore directly in the browser.
  • Handling of complex GPS tracks and optimization of Cesium rendering to maintain smooth navigation and replay performance for flights containing large numbers of data points.
  • Previously developed a search engine connected to the FFVL database, allowing users to search for and display flights published by pilots directly within the application.
  • Design and development of a responsive interface tailored to map exploration and flight data analysis.
